Garlic croutons


  • 250g stale sourdough bread cut into evenly sized pieces
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves (optional), peeled and crushed

Makes 250g


  1. Preheat the oven to 180˚C / 160˚C fan / Gas 4 and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Toss the bread with the oil and garlic, if using, along with a few pinches of sea salt.
  3. Spread the croutons on the baking tray and bake for 15 minutes until beginning to brown.
  4. Remove from the oven and leave to cool before storing in an airtight container.
