Citrus powder

Dried orange powder


  • Peel from 2 oranges

Makes 1 mini jar


  1. Preheat the oven to 100˚C / 80˚C fan / Gas ¼, or as low as it goes.
  2. Wash and dry the orange peel well.
  3. With a paring knife, cut the peel into thin pieces, making sure you remove as much of the white pith as possible.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment and spread the peel in one single layer on the sheet.
  5. Bake for 2-3 hours until the peel is dry and brittle. Leave to cool and grind in a coffee grinder or spice mill and store in an airtight container.
  6. Use to flavour cakes, biscuits or puddings.
