Sustainability Toolkit
Food and Drink Wales has developed a toolkit to help your business improve sustainability.
The toolkit has been developed as part of the Welsh Government’s vision to make Wales one of the most environmentally and socially responsible food and drink supply chains in the world, as well as contributing towards the country’s wider climate ambitions, including reaching net zero by 2050.
The toolkit provides some ‘top tips’ on how to reduce your food waste, packaging, and energy use, and ultimately, in places, help your ‘bottom line’.

Sustainability for your Business guide
In 2021, Food Innovation Wales introduced a Sustainability for your Business guide, offering a comprehensive toolkit of information for food and drink companies operating in Wales and signposting practical steps as to how they can work in a different way, including looking for sustainable packaging solutions, reducing food waste and lowering their carbon footprint.
This toolkit is sent out to any companies signing up to a project working with its three food centres across the country, including the Food Technology Centre in Llangefni, which led on the document, and helps food and drink businesses formulate and reformulate products, carry out pre-audits and help with accreditation, process validation and shelf-life.
Find out more about how Food Innovation Wales can help you look at issues such as sustainable product development and waste reduction.
