Climate Adaptation & Resilience Training for Food and Drink Manufacturers
Despite efforts to reduce the impact of climate change through decarbonisation and Net Zero measures, climate change is “locked in” for the foreseeable future. Last year (2023) saw the first year-long global breach of the 1.5c warning limit.
Shifts in weather patterns are becoming increasingly erratic, with more frequent and severe shock climate events. The Climate Adaptation and Resilience Training Programme takes businesses through a risk-based approach to identify proactive and proportionate steps to adapt to climate change and minimise the negative outcomes of shock climate events on operations, premises, supply chains, people, finances and customers as well as highlight potential opportunities.
This unique approach focuses on climate critical control points within a food and drink business and draws upon management tools and techniques such as scenario planning, continuity planning, and risk management to help food and drink manufacturers envisage future scenarios and identify ways to adapt to climate change impacts. The training programme is supported by an essential guide and useful templates and checklists which help to break down this complex area into manageable pieces. Training is delivered through a series of webinars or facilitated one to one workshops with businesses.
